Catching up with Peyton

We've had a pretty busy last few weeks. Peyton will be 15-months on the 6th; he's getting bigger, faster, and into more things. I think we spend most of the day redirecting him away from all the things he shouldn't be doing...expecially climbing the stairs. UGH! He has also been learning very quickly. He picks up on so many things...it is fun to teach him.

He knows what a cow, tiger/lion , snake, and a monkey say. Usually we have to prompt him to get the right answer, but he will copy you right away. He knows about six body parts, can sign more, please, milk, and sometimes all done. We are working on thank you, but he doesn't quite get that concept yet. He can wave good-bye and hi and blow kisses. He has put one two-word combination together... "Hi Daddy" not sure how that one happened...what's up with that? :) We have found that he loves his old toys...all the ones that say 6-months on them are great 15-month toys...he now can do them himself.

He is eating very well...as you can see...and loves greenbeans. Not sure where he gets that from, but I hope he keeps it up. He eats everything we eat and will clear a plate as fast as Daddy. He finally figured out how to drink from a straw, so that is very helpful when we go out because we don't have to have a sippy cup...milk and a straw work great!

His new favorite thing is looking at books. He will flip through a board book repeatedly...especially in the car. I've even noticed him reading to himself by talking to the pages...it is really cute.

He has such a personality. Right now he is playing shy with people he is not so sure of, but overall is very friendly and happy. He is the most stubborn kid I know...he wants what he wants when he wants it...no questions asked. That doesn't always make for a good thing when what he wants he can't have. We have been trying to curb the frustration screaming by having him ask please when he wants some help. If something is stuck, or he dropped something instead of screaming he signs please and we help him out. It has really helped with the frustration level.

Overall, he is doing very well. Growing and developing on schedule...we go to the doctor on friday to find out for sure, but I'm sure all is fine.

Diamondbacks game.

Playing with Play-doh for the first time.

Riding on his rocking horse.

"No more monkey's jumping on the bed!!"
