Two kids - one month down!

So I have been the mother of two boys for a whole month now. I'm still living and so are they...so far so good. :)

Connor is doing well, he is growing like a weed and already about 8 1/2 pounds. Of course that is still relatively small, but he's growing and gaining weight at a pretty good pace. He eats about 4 ounces of formula every 3-4 hours. He sleeps really well. Goes to bed about 10, sleeps until about 2, then about 6. We all wake up about 8 each morning. He does well, but I can't wait until a full night sleep. Connor is a completely different kid than Peyton. He doesn't like to be cold, doesn't like a dirty diaper, but hates it being changed, doesn't like the bath, doesn't like the carseat, and only likes to be held where he can see...but likes to be held a lot. Peyton was so easy going...we were spoiled. Peyton is like Ryan, Connor is like me. And now my mom just laughs because payback is a bitch. :)

Peyton is a great big brother. Most of the time he is not even thinking about Connor and pretty much ignores him. But when he is interested it is so cute. He will go over and talk to him like I talk to him. He says things like "hi buddy" or "that's my big boy". It is great. He always wants to kiss him and needs to know where he is when I am not holding him. There is only jealousy when Peyton is tired and wants me to hold him. He's been great.

I am very much ready to go back to work. I love the daycare that I send Peyton to, so I am not at all worried about sending Connor. They are great people and love Peyton as if he was theirs. I am sure they will take care of Connor as well as they do Peyton. And since I am very comfortable with daycare, it is not an issue for me to work. The people I work with are my extended family, so I miss them lots and want to go back. I love my boys, but I am a much better mom when I go to work each day. And at least Peyton, so far, is a much better kid when he gets out and goes to daycare. The structure and friends help him a lot.

Overall, we've had a really good month. We are all settling into the new and busier roles. I just cannot wait until Connor is old enough to play with Peyton...that will be a blast!
