Smiles

Before I know it, my little boy will be crawling, walking, talking and beating up his big brother. But for right now, I am so excited to see his new little smiles. He has really started to make sounds and expressions and has even smiled (and not for sleep or gas) within this last week.

Connor is really becoming his own little person and it is so much fun to watch. I know what there is ahead and I am so excited for him to reach those milestones and be able to play with Peyton...but at the same time I am trying to savor every moment, because there won't be another little baby around until grandkids (about 40 years from now).

Peyton is still very good with him, but pretty much does his own thing. He occassionally will stop playing and come over to say Hi and kiss his brother. He always asks where "Baby Connor" is and wants to see him. It is so cute when he sits down next to Connor and me and will repeat the things I say, like: "Hi, big guy, or "where's your smiles". It is funny to hear it come from such a small kid. He has really been a big helper and always wants to show Connor his big boy toys and tells him that when he gets big he will play ball with him. Precious.

Connor is really starting to blend into the family well. At first, he was a bit tempermental and wasn't a go with the flow kid. Now he is starting to get used to sitting in the carseat, going out and about, laying down by himself for awhile, etc. He still needs to be fed immediately when hungry, but I am usually prepared for that, so it isn't too bad.

We have started sleeping longer at night. He usually goes down about 10 and will sleep until about 4-5am. He is absolutely starving when he wakes up, but it gives us about 6 or 7 hours of sleep. During the day he will polish down a 4oz bottle about every 3 hours. We had to put him on a gentle formula because the regular kind was causing a bunch of tummy troubles. But since this formula is partially broken down, it doesn't stay long in his belly and he is hungry pretty much all the time. And we are seeing the effects of eating...just today his weighed about 11 lbs...pretty much the same weight that Peyton was around this age. Seems to be right on track.

He goes for his 2 month check-up on October 4th, so I will let everyone know where he is once I get that information.
